An ordinary working duckie with aspirations of global travelling within my means (and limited time)
Like many other duckies, I am tied down primarily to fixed office hours (or even overtime) in the Duckie Laboratories, and would previously appreciate the annual or biannual trips to a country during leave clearance, constrained to economy class travel. walking past the business class cabins with envy. My thoughts then were: surely I won’t be able to sit on Business Class for my life? Perhaps on one or two trips, but not exactly value-for-money.
As I walked past the Business Class (or even First Class) cabins with envy, I couldn't help but wonder: Is it possible for me to experience this luxury, while not significantly affecting my travel budget? Maybe on a few rare occasions, but not necessarily as a cost-effective choice.
That was before I chanced upon the world of miles and points: inspired by Mile Chasers like The Milelion and One Mile At A Time, and later on Mainlymiles and Suitesmile. In 2019, I had the opportunity to experience my first Business Class journey with my spouse, albeit for a short trip to Bali. However, that experience left a lasting impression on me, igniting a newfound passion. Subsequently, I delved into comprehensive research and devised various strategies, such as leveraging airline mileage and hotel membership programs, to enhance my travel and accommodation experiences. Now, I hope to document my acquired knowledge through this blog.
Time, as a working individual with limited annual leave, remains a crucial factor that hampers regular travel. Through this blog, not only will I be able to revisit and document my planning processes, but I also aim to demonstrate that any ordinary duckie can embark on exciting journeys with careful planning and diligent scheduling.
Despite this, my ultimate aim would be to be able to travel anytime without being tied down to a fixed location, but for now I hope to “enjoy the journey”. Join me.
Nevertheless, my ultimate aspiration is to break free from the constraints of a fixed location and travel at any time. However, for the time being, I seek to relish and “enjoy the journey” itself. I invite you to join me on this adventure.
